Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Explore how the psychosocial environment of professional counseling shapes their professional worldview and their perceptions of their place in mental health services.
- Analyze ways in which secondary traumatic stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious traumatization can manifest and impact the counselor in clinical settings.
- Formulate ways to counter clinical exposure to traumatic client experiences, and support counselor resilience.
